What is a media wall?
A media wall is a purpose built wall that houses your television and everything around it. Instead of a TV hanging on a bare wall with cables running down it, the screen, fireplace, lighting, shelving and storage are designed into a single structure. The result reads as part of the room rather than an object stuck to it.
How much does a media wall cost?
Every project is bespoke, so there is no set price. Cost depends on the dimensions of the wall, the materials and finishes you choose, whether an electric fireplace is included, how much storage and shelving is built in, the lighting, and the installation requirements of the room. Send us your room and we will talk you through what your project would involve.
How long does a media wall take to build?
It depends on the size and complexity of the build, the finishes involved and the condition of the existing wall. We will give you a realistic timescale for your specific project once we have seen the room, rather than quoting a standard number of days.
Can you install an electric fireplace?
Yes. Electric fireplaces are one of the most popular parts of a media wall and are designed in from the start so the proportions between the fire, the television and the surrounding wall are right.
Can you build around my existing TV?
Yes. Tell us the screen size and model and the wall is designed around it. If you are planning to upgrade the television later, mention it and we will allow for the larger size.
Can you include storage?
Yes. Cabinetry, shelving and concealed storage can all be built into the wall, sized around what you actually need to keep in the room.
Can you include LED lighting?
Yes. Integrated LED lighting can be used to wash the wall, light shelving or outline the television recess. Lighting is planned at design stage so the wiring is concealed.
Can you hide the TV cables?
Yes. Cable management is part of the build. Power and data are routed inside the structure so nothing is visible once the wall is finished.
Can you build a media wall around a fireplace?
Yes. We regularly design walls that bring the television and fireplace together as one balanced feature. If you have an existing fireplace, send a photo and we will talk through the options for your room.
Can you design a home cinema room?
Yes. Alongside media walls we design dedicated cinema rooms, where the screen, seating, lighting and room finishes are considered together. The scope of each cinema project is agreed with you at the start.
Can you work from my own design?
Yes. If you have a design, a sketch or a set of reference images, send them over and we will work from them.
Will it damage my wall?
A media wall is built as a new structure in front of or into the existing wall, so the existing surface is covered rather than destroyed. Any making good needed around the edges is part of the finishing stage.
What areas do you cover?
We cover every London borough and the sought-after parts of Essex, including Chigwell, Loughton, Buckhurst Hill and Epping, along with Hertfordshire. We are also expanding into the Midlands. If you are outside that, send your postcode on WhatsApp and we will tell you straight away whether we can help.
How do I get a quote?
Message us on WhatsApp or use the enquiry form. Photos of the wall, a rough measurement and your TV size are usually enough for us to start the conversation.
What do I need to provide for an enquiry?
Photographs of the wall, the approximate width and height, your TV size, your location, and anything you already know you want, such as a fireplace, storage or lighting. Inspiration images are welcome but not essential.
What actually moves the price.
No published prices, because a fixed number would be a guess about a room we have not seen. This is what a quote is built from.
Wall size
Width and height set the structure, the board, the framing and the labour behind everything else.
Fireplace
Whether a fire is included, how wide it is and how it is fed with power.
Storage
Shelving and cabinetry add joinery. Concealed storage adds more.
Lighting
How many circuits, how they are switched and whether they dim.
Finish
A painted finish and a stone effect finish are not the same job.
The room itself
Existing chimney breasts, sockets, skirting and uneven walls all change the preparation.
